Hi, I’m Debby, the maker behind Sunshine Pot-Tree.
What started as a fun pottery hobby has grown into something I absolutely love. Every piece is handmade by me in my Sunshine Coast studio, usually in small batches and often inspired by flowers, the ocean, nature and whatever creative idea happens to take over that day!
And the name? Sunshine Pot-Tree came about because I originally made lots of little ceramic pots designed to hang in trees. Pots + trees + the Sunshine Coast = Sunshine Pot-Tree. The name stuck, even though my pottery collection has grown well beyond those first little hanging pots.
I love creating pieces that are a little different, with the quirks and character that come from being handmade. It still gives me such a thrill knowing my ceramics are finding their way into people’s homes, gardens and gift boxes all around Australia.
Thanks for supporting handmade and my little pottery business.
Every Sunshine Pot-Tree piece is handcrafted in my home studio on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Queensland. Surrounded by tropical gardens, birds and nature, there’s never a shortage of inspiration around here.
Everything is made and fired on-site in my own kiln, and many of the pieces you see photographed have only just emerged from the kiln before finding a sunny spot in the garden or poolside for their photo shoot.
My studio is currently closed to the public, however local pick-up is available by appointment for Sunshine Coast customers. Simply select Local Pick Up at checkout and I’ll be in touch to arrange a convenient collection time.
Every Sunshine Pot-Tree piece is made by hand in my Sunshine Coast studio using quality Australian clay. My functional ceramics are mid-fired to around 1200°C and finished with food-safe glazes, creating durable pieces designed to be used and enjoyed.
My ceramics are inspired by the colours and textures of nature, from flowers and foliage to the ocean and its wonderful creatures. Each piece has its own character, with the little variations and quirks that make handmade pottery so special.
From mugs and bowls to serving ware, vases and decorative pieces, my ceramics are made to bring a little colour, personality and handmade joy to everyday life.
